Whistleblowing Policy
Crystal Business Solutions (CBS) is committed to fostering a culture of integrity, transparency, and accountability. Our Whistleblowing Policy encourages employees, suppliers, clients, and the public to report misconduct—such as fraud, corruption, harassment, safety violations, or unethical behavior—without fear of retaliation. Reports are handled confidentially and investigated promptly in compliance with Uganda’s Whistleblowers Protection Act (2010) and Anti-Corruption Act (2009).
Key Features of the Policy:
1. Scope: Covers financial misconduct, legal breaches, workplace violations, and environmental/supplier misconduct.
2. Reporting Channels:
- Internal: Secure online portal, email (PGP encrypted), 24/7 hotline, or in-person meetings.
- External: Inspectorate of Government, Financial Intelligence Authority, or Uganda Law Society (if internal channels fail).
3. Investigation Process:
- Reports are prioritized and investigated within 48 hours (high priority) to 30 days (complex cases).
- Outcomes include disciplinary action or legal referrals, with closure letters sent to whistleblowers.
4. Protection Measures:
- Whistleblowers may remain anonymous and are protected from retaliation. Legal support is provided if needed.
- Accused parties are presumed innocent until proven otherwise.
5. Transparency & Training:
- Secure records are maintained, and an annual anonymized report is shared with the Board.
- Mandatory training for employees and awareness programs for suppliers/public.
Acknowledgement: CBS prohibits retaliation against good-faith whistleblowers and ensures confidentiality.
